Our History

My name is Mike Menard and I’m the owner of the Menard Plumbing and Heating located in the beautiful District of Sooke and Langford/Westshore. With over 30 + years of experience with emphasis in commercial construction and repairs, I have had the opportunity to build and renovate some very interesting projects. I have spent most of my life in the construction field and have developed many relationships with contractors, engineers and architects from all walks of life. I believe that for every problem there is a solution and you just need to find the right person to fix it. On many occasions I have been asked to resolve a problem that others can’t fix, and every time I have solved the problem or found out the problem to be resolved. I love a challenge! When you call our company, you will get attention to your needs and a game plan to resolve them.

Our heritage of plumbing and heating begins in 1937 with my grandfather Oscar starting his first and only plumbing company in Ontario. My Father Maurice bought and took over the company in 1971 and operated that company successfully till retirement in 2013. Now I have used the family name in the plumbing and heating industry to provide the same quality of plumbing service to our residences and business owners alike in the District of Sooke. As a young man working with my father and grandfather on many projects, I got the inside track on all things mechanical, and with enthusiasm I excelled. The last 15 years of my trade I was a plumbing manager for 2 plumbing and mechanical companies that employed on average 30 employees. We asked friends if they could suggest a reliable plumber that might come to Port Renfrew a.s.a.p. as our situation was pretty severe. This was on Family Day. Mike Menard was named above a few others. Mike was quick to respond and drove out within a couple hours to lend his expertise. We were deep into the problem doing all we could from our end. Not enough. CRD would need to be called as the "plug" was soon to be determined to be on their end. A pipe-camera was required to prove it. Mike never got excited, stayed calm throughout and worked hard to help solve this problem. A few trips were made and within days our drains were working. The cost was not exceptional but payments were made in 3 installments. A great guy! A great job! 5 Stars from Port Renfrew!
